Dusty Dubai

So my family and I are currently on an adventure. Our first stopover was Dubai after a painful 16 hours of flying. I'm not going to lie and say that I love this city, but one thing that impressed me was the Dubai Mall. It is HUGE. The airport was fairly amazing as well, very much like a palace (or casino). One of the biggest bothers here is the heat and the dust. But my mum and I have realised that if you sit still, its not that bad. I love our hotel room. It's pretty much a house. Two rooms (with ensuites), a living room, dining room, kitchen and 3rd bathroom. Its fantastic. Next stop on our adventure is Glasgow (I'm not sure what to look forward to here).
The sun shining through the dust.
An aquarium inside the shopping mall.
Not sure what the sink is for (our hotel room).

Ron Mueck

I must admit, today felt a little like a school excursion. Minus the school bus and uniforms. But our visit to the Ron Mueck exhibition at GoMA was quite an experience. Everything about the sculptures was incredibly realistic, the hair, the goosebumps, even the veins. Some were just plain creepy to look at (actually most of them) but I guess you just have to appreciate how much hard work would have gone into making them.

This baby was probably larger than an elephant.

We were fairly disappointed that the back of this was hollow, it's just a mask.

This just makes me laugh. A giant inflatable bunny lying down looking pretty wasted. (Not from the exhibition)

An Evening With Max

So tonight a few of my best friends and I ventured down the coast to endulge in an evening of chocolate at Max Brenner. We shared the Tutti-Frutti Waffles and Choco-Banana Pizza and washed it down with white hot chocolates. Mmmm. But all this sweet left us craving some savoury, so we completed our night with a routine trip to Maccas. Yes, Maccas.
