My my

Oh how time does fly.
It's been two months since I've been home!

So what the hell have I been doing?

I've climbed a mountain - quite literally.

I've farewelled a dear and close friend, who is off on a 5 month adventure to try new food, see extraordinary things and meet people with tales to tell.

I've returned to my saviour of sanity, my sewing machine.  I love making little one off pieces like this top.

I flew to Melbourne to visit a friend who just recently moved there to start her grad job.

I celebrated the 22nd birthdays of two of my oldest friends
10 years with Trew and 16 years with Verity - 10 & 16 years of giggles, bitching and damn good cake.

I celebrated the milestone that is 21, of my real life china doll.

I've made sure to put those restless feelings of reverse homesickness at ease.

And I've just started helping out with Cancer Council Qld. The teddy bears make it that extra bit rewarding ^_^

So I guess that's it.

Week 8 & 9

I'm feeling lazy.
So I'll just tell my stories through captions.

Back in July, I heard that Grouplove would be in St Louis so I bought 2 tickets asap (in anticipation of making at least one friend here).

A fun rendition!

On stage in a plaid dressing gown.

With Charlotte, Jess and Teresa at Jess & Bella's dinner/welcoming party for Bella's boyfriend who flew over from Brisbane for a visit. The cut-out letters above us spell out "Tristan".

Probably Edouard's best photo - with Jacopo and Tristan at Brennans. They let you smoke inside, hence the mysterious, misty glaze.

Thursday Bar Review with our 3L friends (3rd years). Except I don't know who the person on the left end is.

The view from my roof top on a beautiful day. It's no beachfront, but it definitely soothes the soul.

One of Livingston's favourite hobbies is going to buffets, so he introduced us to this magical place - all you can eat sushi and Chinese food for $9. INCLUDING DESSERTS. Needless to say, I fell into a food coma after lunch.

WashU throws a concert/festival-like celebration each semester called W.I.L.D. Free musical acts, food,  fro-yo, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and a good time!
The girls carbo-loading for free - I don't think I can emphasise enough, how much free stuff there is to be found here.

The most fun I've had sober since the Good Friday picnic. (I didn't take advantage of the free beer - not a fan)

Lasers and lights as the sun goes down.

Beer Pong at Or's dinner party - I've realised I don't have the patience for this game.

Or and I out for dessert and cocktails at happy hour. Mochi ice-cream, friend banana with ice-cream and $3.50 pina coladas.

Week 6 & 7: This is not healthy

Everyone here is a little bit crazy. Myself included. But it keeps things interesting and I love it.
The things that I've seen here, are going to be instilled into my memory forever, I think.

Classes have been going well, although its quite frustrating when you're caught off guard and asked a question about the reading. I feel as though I'm developing my bullshitting skills quite nicely here. Some professors like to ask you a question, then once they hear the hesitation in your voice, they continue to ask you more questions, even though they know you have no bloody idea what she or you are saying. My favourite 'go to' answer is, "What do you mean?"

My housemates and I threw our first apartment party last night and it was definitely worth the vom we found in both our front and back stairwells. Gross I know, but the combination of all our friends made a fun night I'll struggle to remember.

I also went to see the St Louis Cardinals (baseball) and the St Louis Rams (football) play, to get the full American experience. Both teams won but god its hard to sit through an entire game of either. Baseball is quite slow and uneventful and football, while more exciting, is just frustrating to watch, because they stop the clock at least every 30 seconds. Either to talk tactics or literally have an ad break where some sort of entertainment appears on the big screen. A 15 minute quarter takes at least twice as long to get through. Americans....

Enjoy the photo diary! :)

A Sunday night feast with good food and company at Or's house.

Jacopo and Teresa being cute

My American pal Livingston: I taught him about how we use the term 'ranga' and now he thinks I'm racist lol.

We went to this cute little jazz bar and she gave him a spanking for his birthday. Ben (left) probably wanted to join in on the fun too.

Every weekend the South 40 (where most freshman live) does all you can eat brunch for 3 hours for $9. You get a wrist band and go back and forth as much as your stomach will allow.

WashU Bears football team

Sanjay and Edouard at dinner at Fitz's

With my root beer float at Fitz's. I cannot believe people have this with their dinner. 3 scoops of ice-cream over a giant mug of soft drink. It's like half your daily intake.

We went to a random house party and was subjected to this beautiful performance. If you look closely, there's another head behind him. Lucky guy.

Teresa and I shared nachos at the baseball game. They use paint to decorate the corn chips.

Go Cardinals!

Sara, Teresa and I at the game.

Edouard's beautiful creation for our party

when the kids come out to play

Last Saturday was Future Music Festival.
I am still recovering from my post-festival depression.
