welcome to my wardrobe

so here is the latest (maybe greatest so far) creation to come from my sewing machine and holiday boredom. I found a scrap piece of gorgeous floral fabric and used it to spruce up a singlet I made using the rest of my t-shirt fabric (circa Dec 2010, G's t-shirts).

ok its true, i am a model.

Dear Grade 2 Julia,

Try not to dob on your friends too much. Stuff might not be fair at the time, but try to embrace the situation and resolve it before you go and tell. Dobbing on your friends to the birthday girls mum at a sleepover for talking too much and not letting you sleep is a bit too much.

Dear Grade 3 Julia,

That time you were lining up for class and the conversation was about how much everyone weighs, that was rubbish. You were not a 'pork chop'. It was puppy fat, and lucky for you, it was all gone by grade 7 (but may have come back a little, later on).

There must be things that you know now, that you wish you knew then.
At 19 years and 8 months, I'm still young, but I've learnt a lot.

Dear Pre-School Julia,

Please don't be scared. There are lots of friends to make and fun to be had.
Daddy will always be there to pick you up at after school care. Don't cry, because it's nowhere near as much fun as laughing.

Mr Old gets angry sometimes and yells, but he isn't a bad man. And he didn't scare Aymish away from school. He was probably just sick that day.

at the mo

things are looking up!
lately i was in a bit of a slump, money wise and mood wise (because of the money).
but as of today i've bagged myself a new job AND been taken back by my old law firm in open arms, to do city work (property settlements, lodging law documents).
yes i'm a little bit excited.
plus i've gotten back into dancing and am involved in a new project - a breast cancer fundraiser concert.

so, at the mo:
I'm psyched about keeping busy and not be bored.
I'm ready to learn more at the law firm.
I'm for some reason, excited about starting uni.
I'm dodging obesity with dancing and my new gym membership.

promise you won't laugh

so i've sewed my very own dress! but i started this project telling myself if would be a 'practise' dress. a test run. so i gathered all the scrap fabric i could find and created what i like to call, my ragdoll dress. now that i've completed it, i know what parts i want to alter when i make the real deal. i can also go out and buy proper fabric, so that i can make something wearable outside the house.

I then had a little getaway with my family up north to the beach. With a lovely surprise from the greatest boyfriend there ever was.
