Week 5: Gabon

I'm learning new things here everyday. For instance, Gabon is a country is Africa and the country I've been assigned to campaign for in a mock election for the United Nation Human Rights Council for my International Human Rights class. When I first found out, I couldn't help but think what the fk is Gabon. Then after researching it, I found out its one of those countries with massacres, corruption and child trafficking. It practically screams, vote for me.

This week has settled down a bit in terms of excitement but I'm still keeping busy and meeting new people all the time. Monday, I went to gymnastics club off campus, only to look silly doing cartwheels while everyone else was backflipping and whatnot. But I mean it's all about trying new things here.  Thursday's bar review consisted of $1 shots and $2 gin and tonics so you can imagine how that went. Friday was the first time I'd skipped a class (9am legal research, you would too). And on Saturday I played beer pong at a uni bar on a real beer pong table and won! (Sara also, we were on a team).

I feel bad for saying this, but I'm not really missing home. But I blame facebook and whatsapp for that. I'm in two worlds at once.

Some of the goodies that Rachel mailed over (its a rape whistle).

Delicious experimental cooking - chicken, mushroom tomato and baby spinach stir fried, over pasta.

Couldn't get enough of my lecturer's outfit that day.

Me and the beautiful Sara!

With Charlotte and Jacopo.

A shot of the balloon festival held in Forest Park over the weekend. Pretty bloody amazing.

Like I said, pretty bloody amazing.
